Since the contest was launched on April 27th, * * * has attracted 92 teams from home and abroad, including Wayne State University, Tokyo University, Jilin University, Tongji University, Beihang University, Hefei University of Technology and Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Comprehensive evaluation, intelligent driving on the cloud
The intelligent driving simulation competition will provide the teams with fixed test scenes and road traffic scenes in the simulation environment, and the teams will access the algorithm to the simulation scene database to obtain camera information, millimeter-wave radar information, lidar information or truth information in the simulation environment.
This year's competition is associated with the 2020 World Intelligent Driving Challenge (WIDC). For the first time, PanoSim, a domestic automatic driving simulation software, was adopted as the simulation platform of the competition, and the online competition system was innovated. The cloud simulation platform is adopted to support the teams to submit their works online, complete the referee in real time and return the results.
The participating vehicles follow the established route, set up a boundary scene composed of roads and traffic participants, and investigate the system's ability to identify dangerous targets and active braking algorithm. Racing is a classic car decision control project. There is no speed requirement and no lane change/lane change restriction in the test content. Only the edge of the road is a constraint, and the time to reach the finish line determines the outcome. The finals are consistent with the preliminaries, which is more competitive and enjoyable. ?
The competition is fierce, and the event helps the industrial development.
On June 13, the referee of the contest, Professor Zhu Bing, director of the Intelligent Networked Automobile Innovation Center of Jilin University, deputy referee, Professor Lu Xiong, deputy director of the New Energy Automobile Engineering Center of Tongji University, Professor Xu Zhigang, vice president of the School of Information Engineering of Chang 'an University, and Mr. Zheng Yingdong, senior project manager of the simulation test of China Automotive Research Center (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. and other expert judges made online on-site rulings of the contest.
After fierce competition, * * * decided five individual awards: safety collision avoidance (radar), automatic parking, track racing, expressway automatic driving and safety collision avoidance (camera). The top teams in each individual event were also shortlisted for the 2020 World Intelligent Driving Challenge Intelligent Driving Simulation Competition.
Simulation test is the only way for the smart car industry to land. As an indispensable part of the World Intelligence Congress, the Intelligent Driving Simulation Competition is positioned as a world-class high-end communication platform and technical practice evaluation scale. Through a series of three-dimensional, practical and all-round evaluation, it provides authoritative and fair third-party services to promote the healthy development of a new generation of artificial intelligence, the scientific and technological progress of smart cars, the exchange of standards and regulations and the popularization of social consumption. The success of this competition has accumulated a lot of experience for the simulation test and product certification of smart cars in China, which can effectively promote the innovative development of smart car industry.
