Anhui University of Science and Technology is neither a 2 1 1 university nor a 985 university. The school has a combination of full-time and part-time teachers with reasonable structure. The school has a graduate school, 18 colleges (departments) and a directly affiliated hospital. At present, there are 6 post-doctoral research stations, 6 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines and 33 doctoral programs in two disciplines. Master's degree programs in first-class disciplines are 2 1, master's degree programs in two disciplines 109, 9 authorized categories of master's degrees, and 80 undergraduate majors.

There are 1 Anhui class I peak disciplines (the only special support), 5 class III peak disciplines, 1 Anhui provincial key disciplines and 7 provincial key disciplines. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, seven disciplines are on the list. The school has formed a school-running system with engineering as the main body, safety, geology and mining, blasting and other disciplines as the characteristics, and the coordinated development of engineering, science, medicine, management, literature, economics, law and art.
