Professor Kang Lishan, the former president, is the most influential expert in the field of parallel computing in China. He used to be the director of the Institute of Software Engineering of Wuhan University and the director of the State Key Laboratory of Software Engineering. Professor of Computer College of Wuhan University, doctoral supervisor of computer software theory, deputy director of Theoretical Computer Science Branch of China Computer Federation, deputy director of Academic Committee of State Key Laboratory of Software Engineering of Wuhan University, member of Military Software Group of Science, Technology and Industry Committee for National Defense, and academic leader of National High Performance Computing Center (Wuhan). He presided over the National Natural Science Foundation 15 project (including two key projects) and 24 national general funds. Won the National Natural Science Award 1 item, the first prize of the Ministry of Education 3 items, the second prize of Hubei Province 2 items, the second prize of the advanced worker of the 863 Program of the State Science and Technology Commission 1 item and many other awards. He also serves as the editorial board of nine famous international and domestic magazines in the computer field, such as Parallel Algorithms and Applications (UK). He has attended and presided over important international academic conferences 18 times, made invited reports for many times, published 7 influential monographs and more than 200 scientific papers, including more than 40 papers retrieved by SCI and EI. In terms of personnel training, 44 doctoral students (including 35 graduates) and 50 master students (37 graduates) have been trained successively. The latest research results of Professor Pan, a doctoral student under his supervision, in evolutionary computing were published in the journal Science.
