Southwest University of Political Science and Law:
Southwest University of Political Science and Law&; Law), located in the beautiful mountain city of Chongqing, is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning of politics and law established in New China, founded by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and the first batch of national key universities. It is called the "National Southwest Associated University" of law education in New China.
The predecessor of the school is Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and the predecessor is Southwest People's Revolutionary University, which was established in 1950, with Marshal Liu Bocheng as the principal. 1953, based on the Department of Political Science and Law of Southwest People's Revolutionary University, the law school (department) merged with Chongqing University, Sichuan University, Guizhou University, Yunnan University and Chongqing University of Finance and Economics was formally established. At the beginning of the school, the school received the cordial care of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Deng Xiaoping and Liu Bocheng, then the director of the Southwest Bureau. General Zhou Baozhong, former commander-in-chief of the Second Route Army of Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Forces, became the first president, and Mr. Guo Moruo wrote the name of the school in his own handwriting. 1993, becoming the authorized unit of doctoral degree. 1995, the school was renamed Southwest University of Political Science and Law. In 2003, it became the first batch of authorized units for doctoral degrees in first-class disciplines of law.
As of June 20 14, the school has three campuses: Yubei Campus, Shapingba Campus and Baoshenghu Campus, with a total area of 3067.76 mu. There are 6.5438+0.9 million paper resources and 64 Chinese and foreign language databases. At present, there are more than 0/500 faculty members and more than 24,000 full-time students. There are 14 colleges (departments) offering 23 undergraduate majors, including 1 first-class doctoral degree authorization points, 10 two disciplines doctoral degree authorization points, 7 first-class master degree authorization points, 37 two disciplines master degree authorization points and 6 master degree authorization points.
