2. Introduction to Hunan University Hunan University is located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in China. Its campus is located on the bank of Xiangjiang River and at the foot of Yuelu Mountain, enjoying the reputation of "a Millennium University and a century-old prestigious school". The school has a long history and excellent educational tradition. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project" key construction university, and a national "world-class university".
Hunan University originated from Yuelu Academy and was founded in 976. After the changes of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, it has always maintained the continuity of culture, education and teaching. 1903 was transformed into Hunan Higher Education College, and 1926 was named Hunan University. 1937 became one of the national universities of the Ministry of Education of the National Government 16. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Li Da, the representative of the first National Congress and educator, was appointed as the first president of Hunan University in New China, and Comrade Mao Zedong wrote the name of the school in his own handwriting. In 2000, Hunan University and Hunan University of Finance and Economics merged to form a new Hunan University.
In the long-term course of running a school, the school has inherited and carried forward the fine tradition of "preaching and giving lessons to solve doubts, being patriotic and pragmatic, and accommodating", accumulated the spirit of Huda University with "seeking truth from facts and being the first" as its motto and the school spirit with "being knowledgeable, thinking, diligent and knowledgeable" as its core, and established the overall goal of talent training with a solid foundation, broad vision and both ability and political integrity. It has formed the characteristics of traditional culture education and strengthening practical teaching, and trained a large number of senior professionals with solid foundation, active thinking, strong adaptability and high comprehensive quality for the country and society. Many graduates have grown into famous experts and scholars, outstanding entrepreneurs and outstanding party and government management talents, and 36 teachers and students have been elected members of the "Faculty" and academicians of the "two academies" successively. The school has more than 36,000 full-time students, including more than 20,000 undergraduates and 0/5,000 postgraduates. The initial employment rate of graduates has remained above 95%.
The school has a graduate school and 25 colleges, with disciplines and specialties covering philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, medicine, art and so on 1 1 categories. At present, there are 27 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 36 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral professional degrees, 20 master's professional degrees, 60 undergraduate enrollment majors, 2 first-level disciplines of national key disciplines, 4 national key disciplines of two disciplines, and 25 post-doctoral research stations. At present, seven disciplines have entered the top of ESI ranking 1 ‰, among which engineering and chemistry rank in the top 1‰, seven disciplines have been selected as national defense characteristic disciplines, and chemical and mechanical engineering disciplines have entered the ranks of "world-class construction disciplines" of the Ministry of Education.
There are nearly 4,000 faculty members in the school, including 2,045 full-time teachers, including professors 1 person, 428 associate professors, academicians 1 person, 6 members of the discipline evaluation group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, 5 scholars1person, 20 scholars (including 3 famous teachers) and national-level teaching masters. Twenty-three people were selected for the National Hundred Million Talents Project, two young and innovative talents in the National Innovative Talents Promotion Program, and the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education 134 people.
