Brief introduction of department of mechanical engineering of Zhejiang University
The School of Mechanical Engineering of Zhejiang University is one of the earliest institutions engaged in mechanical science research and personnel training in China. It originated from the Mechanical Department of Zhejiang University, which was established by 19 1 1. /kloc-Over the past 0/00 years, tens of thousands of professional and technical personnel have been trained, and a number of outstanding scientists, educators and advanced figures such as Lu Yongxiang and Lin Junde have emerged, which have made important contributions to the country's prosperity and scientific and technological progress.

School of Mechanical Engineering has four research institutes, including mechatronics control engineering, modern manufacturing engineering, mechanical design, engineering and computer graphics, and 1 engineering training (metalworking) center. It also has the "2 1 1" key discipline group of mechanical country and the "985" second-phase electromechanical system and equipment scientific and technological innovation platform. The current chairman is Tan Rongjian, an academician of China Academy of Engineering.

The College has two national key laboratories: National Engineering Drawing Teaching Base, Fluid Power and Electromechanical System, Computer Aided Design and Graphics (* * *), Zhejiang Advanced Manufacturing Technology Key Laboratory, National Engineering Technology Research Center of Electro-hydraulic Control Engineering Technology, three national experimental teaching demonstration centers and four professional laboratories of mechanical engineering, engineering training and electromechanical. It has two national specialties of mechanical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and its automation, and the national innovative specialty of mechanical engineering talent training mode.

Mechanical and electronic engineering is a national key construction discipline; Mechanical and electronic engineering, mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechanical design and theory are the key construction disciplines of colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province.

The College has the Post-Doctoral Research Center of Mechanical Engineering, and has the right to award doctoral degrees and master's degrees in the first-class discipline of mechanical engineering, as well as the right to award five doctoral degrees and seven master's degrees in two disciplines. There are three undergraduate majors: mechanical engineering and automation, mechatronics engineering and industrial engineering.
