The school has five campuses in Guangzhou (University Town, Chigang and Baogang), Zhongshan and Yunfu, covering an area of nearly 5,300 mu. The school has 19 colleges (departments), 2 research institutes (centers) and 2 directly affiliated tertiary hospitals. It offers 49 undergraduate majors and is one of the most complete universities in China. There are 2 national and provincial first-class undergraduate majors in pharmacy, clinical medicine, pharmaceutical preparations and traditional Chinese medicine, and 2 national experimental teaching demonstration centers. There are 5 master's authorization points and 7 master's authorization points in the first-level discipline; Clinical medicine, chemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, and agricultural science have successively entered the ESI world 1%. The school has 1826 faculty members.
The school was founded in 1958, formerly known as Guangdong Health Cadre College; 1978, upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college, named Guangdong Medical College; 1994 was renamed as Guangdong Pharmaceutical University; 20 16 was renamed Guangdong Pharmaceutical University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Has trained outstanding alumni such as Wu Feichi, Hong Jiangyou and Liu Rong.
