Why is Changchun Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital called Sino-Japanese Friendship? Is it related to Japan?
The Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital of Jilin University was moved from the original site of Xinmin Street in Chaoyang District of Changchun City to the new site of Freedom Road in Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone. It was funded by the governments of Jilin Province and Changchun City, funded by the Ministry of Health, and the Japanese government provided 2.6 billion yen of medical equipment free of charge. In order to thank the Japanese people for their sincerity and goodwill, the hospital was renamed Bethune Third Hospital (China-Japan Friendship Hospital) with the approval of the Ministry of Health. In 2000, after Bethune Medical University merged with Jilin University, the hospital was officially renamed as the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital of Jilin University.
