At present, the dormitory of North China University of Science and Technology is not equipped with air conditioning, and the school is in Tangshan. North China University of Science and Technology was formed by the merger of the former Hebei Polytechnic University founded by 1958 and the former North China Coal Medical College founded by 1926.

The school was jointly established by the Emergency Management Department of People's Republic of China (PRC), the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Hebei Province, and was selected into the Education and Training Program for Excellent Engineers, the Education and Training Program for Excellent Doctors, the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, the New Engineering Research and Practice Project, and the Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center.
The school was formed by the merger of Hebei Polytechnic University and North China Coal Medical College on 20 10. Formerly known as Hebei United University, approved by the Ministry of Education on 20 15. The school was renamed North China University of Science and Technology.
Hebei Polytechnic University, formerly known as Beiyang Western Mining Institute, was founded in 1895. Founded in 1958, the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of Tianjin University was merged in 1959. Previously, the names of Tangshan Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and Hebei Institute of Technology were used.
North China Coal Medical College, formerly Kailuan Senior Nurse Vocational School, was founded in 1926. 1963 Tangshan Coal Medical College was founded by a group of backbone teachers from Beijing Medical College, Peking Union Medical College and Tianjin Medical College. 1984 was renamed North China Coal Medical College.
