In this list, Hangzhou failed to draw with Guangzhou, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. As a second-tier city, Hangzhou has always given people the impression that it is livable and the West Lake is small and beautiful. However, the rapid development of Hangzhou in recent years, coupled with the exaggerated publicity of many media, has made Hangzhou a new first-tier city among online celebrities. Especially in the Internet industry, it seems that whenever Hangzhou is mentioned, Alibaba will definitely be mentioned. Under the illumination of Ali, the Internet working environment in Hangzhou has reached the level of first-tier cities.

In the past two years, Hangzhou has been attracting young people with good reputation, good salary level and lower house prices than in the north. As far as I know, in the past two years, many people engaged in Internet in Beijing have come to Hangzhou. Of the 20 people in the product and R&D department of our company, including the technical director, four are from Beijing. I became one of them.

Last September, I quit my last job, ended my unsuccessful life experience in Beijing, came to Hangzhou, stayed in a youth hostel by the West Lake, and started a month-long job search. The reason why I came to Hangzhou is very simple. I come from Zhejiang. It only takes me more than an hour to go home in Hangzhou and work in the Internet industry. My family can't support me to buy a house in Beijing and Shanghai, but Hangzhou can barely, so Hangzhou seems to be my only choice.

If Shanghai impressed me as a big city when I was a child, then Hangzhou once gave me a completely different impression. It's the provincial capital, the West Lake and the dilapidated railway station. At school, I travel with my parents or play with my classmates. I have been to Hangzhou several times, and I have been to the West Lake every time. I also went to Wulin Square, Hefang Street, Qiantang River and Zhejiang University.

In Hangzhou more than ten years ago, the city center was just around the West Lake and Wulin Square, and the whole city was west to Zhejiang University and east to the west bank of Qiantang River. Xiasha by the river is a suburb, and Xiaoshan is independent. The construction and scale of the city is similar to that of Ningbo, with many old houses, no tall buildings and no subway. The city scenery is very good, the greening is good, and there are always many tourists by the West Lake, which feels very suitable for life. Urban construction is average, with traffic jams and narrow roads. Especially in the city station, the inside is small and messy, the outside looks a little broken, and the road in front of the station is very complicated, which destroys many people's first impression of Hangzhou.

In the past five years, many brand-new high-rise buildings and various large companies have appeared on both sides of Qiantang River. There are more and more internet and financial companies and practitioners, the city is gradually expanding, and some old houses in the old city are demolished and rebuilt. Add in the gimmicks of G20 and the tripling of housing prices, and Hangzhou will become a big city in the blink of an eye.

Whether Hangzhou can become a new first-tier city is a topic that has stirred up a large number of people and water on the Internet. The development of Hangzhou benefits from the rise of market economy status and the driving effect of Alibaba under the influence of the Internet. There are top private enterprises in China, such as Alibaba, Netease, Hikvision and Geely, and Hangzhou can enter the top four of various top 500 enterprises. The working environment of the Internet can rank in the top three, and the tertiary industries such as IT, cultural industry, finance and real estate can rank in the top five. There are Zhejiang University, which ranks in the top five in China, and G20 Asian Games, which can attract attention and enhance international popularity. As the capital of Zhejiang, a province that relies on private economy to eat, market economy is the natural advantage of Hangzhou. When it comes to entrepreneurial environment, Shenzhen, Beijing and Hangzhou are next. Coupled with the wealth of Jiangsu and Zhejiang people, Hangzhou's salary level has always been among the best in the country.

I have to mention the Internet in Hangzhou. Speaking of Hangzhou, people can think of Alibaba. This is the most typical case of a company upgrading a city. An Alibaba Group has 20,000 people in Hangzhou, which can attract talents from all over the country. In addition to Ali, there are half of Netease's headquarters, there are large companies such as Zan Mushroom Street 5 1 credit cards with more than D rounds, and there are many startup companies. I have been in Hangzhou for several months, and I feel that most of the people I meet around me are netizens. On the streets of Hangzhou, a brick fell from the sky, knocking down 10 people, 9 of whom belonged to an internet company.

So many people who want to develop in big cities but can't afford to buy a house in Beijing and Shanghai will choose Hangzhou, or go to work in Beijing and Shanghai after graduation, and then come to Hangzhou to buy a house. Some of my former classmates will choose between Shanghai and Hangzhou after graduation, and so will I. These resources, which symbolize the higher level of society, enable Hangzhou to attract some talents engaged in high-end industries and have capital comparable to that of first-tier cities in the spotlight.

But judging from people's daily life, Hangzhou is far from the first-tier cities. Hangzhou is a small city with a small population. Although the municipal government has always wanted to expand the city to the periphery and build Xiasha Economic Development Zone, Future Science and Technology City and Qianjiang Century City, most of these places can only see real estate developers, and business districts, industrial schools, hospitals and other living facilities are not enough. For example, in the Future Science and Technology City where Alibaba Xixi headquarters is located, the basic living and commercial facilities are still in the "future" stage.

In addition to the Internet industry, the employment environment of other industries in Hangzhou is far from that of first-tier cities. For example, the number of large financial institutions, state-owned enterprises and multinational enterprises is not an order of magnitude with Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and even industries such as industry and commerce are not top in second-tier cities. Although there is Zhejiang University in the province, there are no two universities with 2 1 1, leaving me no choice.

The most embarrassing thing is 20 18. There are only three subways in Hangzhou, and both ends of line 1 are still deserted suburbs. The mileage of subway is similar to that of Beijing at the end of last century. The traffic in Hangzhou is often complained that it is only the level of fourth-tier cities. I hardly take a bus in Beijing. During the interview in Hangzhou, it was really miserable to take the bus for more than an hour every day. The limelight in Hangzhou has just begun in recent years. In many ways, Hangzhou is still the small and beautiful ordinary provincial capital city. If the pyramid model is used to describe a city, Hangzhou can hold the tail of a first-tier city in the upper part of the pyramid, but Hangzhou is no different from many second-tier cities in the lower part of the pyramid.

I came to Hangzhou at the end of September this year. I stayed in a youth hostel in Manjuelong, West Lake, and started a month-long life of killing time while looking for a job. There are many places with tourist and literary flavor in Hangzhou. There are various art shops, homestays, special inns and youth hostels around the West Lake, Lingyin Temple, Hefang Street, Wu Qingzhi, Siyanjing and Manjuelong. This is Hangzhou, a tourist city with a slow pace of life. There are a constant stream of tourists around the West Lake, and rich people come to the high-end homestay at the foot of the lake mountain for leisure on weekends.

Hangzhou was an important town in the south of the Yangtze River in ancient times. It used to be the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, and it was an enclave for northerners to go down to the south of the Yangtze River in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. History has created historic sites and cultures worth tasting, and stayed around today's West Lake. Hangzhou dishes is a special food in Hangzhou, which has been handed down since ancient times. As one of the most famous cuisines in Jiangnan, it is famous all over the country, including grandma's restaurant, steamed buns and other daily snacks, Dongpo meat and onion stew, etc. There are also some ancient towns and gardens with Jiangnan characteristics around Hangzhou. Unfortunately, the old city of Hangzhou is not well protected, and some relics and rivers in the city have disappeared.

West Lake has been a symbol of life in Hangzhou since ancient times, and it is an urban lake integrating scenery, history, culture and daily leisure. As far as the scenery is concerned, the West Lake is naturally not as good as the lake in the snowy mountain grassland in Yunnan, Tibet, but its characteristics are as follows: First, it has historical and cultural heritage, and besides the scenery, there are various popular and unpopular cultural relics. In my friend's words, the West Lake is famous because all the celebrities died here. The second is to get close to the people of Hangzhou and integrate into daily life. Looking at the map of Hangzhou, we can see that a quarter of the whole city is embedded with the West Lake and mountains. In the first-and second-tier cities in China, there is no place where the city center is so close to the lakes and mountains.

Hangzhou is not as fast as life in the north, and livable has always been the impression of Hangzhou. Visiting the West Lake in leisure time, climbing mountains and drinking tea, and spending half a day at the foot of the mountain around the West Lake on weekends to visit some unpopular historical sites are the daily lifestyle of Hangzhou people.

However, as Hangzhou's reputation is getting higher and higher, wages, living costs and consumption are getting higher and higher, and the label of livable is slowly being torn off. In fact, Hangzhou itself is not suitable for living. Although there are mountains and water, the climate is not good. There is no heating at MINUS zero in winter, above 38 degrees in summer, and the temperature changes greatly in spring. The traffic has been bad. As the capital of the province with the most local tyrants, consumption has been high.

The most crucial point: housing prices, Hangzhou has experienced a roller coaster process. At 20 10, Hangzhou was the first city to start real estate speculation. At one time, the average price was 25 thousand, which pushed Shanghai and Beijing to the first place in the country. Later, Beijing and Shanghai rose to more than 50,000 several times, while Hangzhou remained below 20,000, so the successful buyers really made a profit after the G20. The house price in Hangzhou soared all the way, and now it has exceeded 30,000, returning to the top six in the country, and it is still rising. In the past two years, the government has done a lot of demolition, which has virtually raised housing prices and there is no sign of stopping.

High housing prices are followed by high rents. When I was looking for renting a house, I saw that there were many shared houses in this area of Xihu District. The price of a second bedroom is basically in the range of 1500 to 2000. Most of this area is still an old community. I heard that this has increased in the past year. Finally, the price of a room I rented was 1750. In contrast, I rented a two-bedroom apartment outside the East Fourth Ring Road in Beijing last year at a price of 1800. If settling down equals buying a house, then the cost of settling down in second-tier cities in Hangzhou is almost the highest.

Relying on the foundation of market economy, Hangzhou may be the second-tier city most suitable for starting a business, working and struggling. The Internet working atmosphere in Hangzhou is totally inconsistent with the leisure and livability of the city. Hangzhou is the city with the most overtime work in the Internet industry, no less than Beijing. When I was looking for a job, I saw many people on the Internet saying that there are many Internet startups in Hangzhou that are all 996. Every night after work, I pass by the ant financial service headquarters next to me. The whole park is brightly lit. I have never seen their lights dim before 10. Alibaba's overtime work is famous in the industry. Many Internet startups in Hangzhou naturally work overtime with Alibaba. In the pace of Internet work, Hangzhou is also in line with first-tier cities. Of course, everyone, every profession, has a different way of life. With the rapid internet and the pursuit of higher wages, a faster pace of life is understandable.

There are many internet companies in Hangzhou. Although the giants are only Ali and Netease, for the average person, the environment of Hangzhou startup is enough to support personal development. 165438+ At the beginning of October, I came to the current company B, and it has been more than four months now. There is no legendary Ali Daniel in this company, but the company is in the growth stage, and I have started to take charge of several products independently. Next to the company is Ant Financial Headquarters, and further west is the suburbs. The environment and welfare are average. Usually get off work around 9 pm and rest on weekends. I'm already satisfied. I specially found a house near the company and rode 10 minutes to the company. I can already foresee the life of two points and one line day after day.

I don't know whether to go back to work in the north, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in the future, or stay in Hangzhou until I buy a house, or even change careers and go home. From my junior year to the present four years, I have been to many places and experienced Guang Bei, Shenzhen and Hangzhou at close range. Although my personal work accumulation and development is not good, I have been tossing around while I am young and have seen the world.

In the first year of graduation, I saw the city of Guangzhou-recording the north, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hangzhou I walked through (I).
