The College of Resources and Environment of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University was formerly the Department of Soil Agronomy of Fujian Agricultural University and the Department of Land and Environment of Fujian Agricultural University. The former Ministry of Soil Agrochemical was established in 1958. In 1990s, in order to meet the needs of rapid social and economic development, the specialty of land management and agricultural environmental protection was established, and it was renamed as the Department of Land and Environment in 1994. 200 1 College of Resources and Environment was established in May when Fujian Agricultural University and Fujian Forestry College merged.
