UCR is rigorous in academic research and has the world's top agronomy department. Burns Institute of Engineering also enjoys a high reputation in academic circles. According to the 20 19 ranking of American News World University, the engineering discipline ranks 69th in the world (the impact index cited in standardized papers is 1), and the salary of graduates ranks 30th in the United States. Other departments of the school also have a good reputation, and the research results of many departments of the school have reached the world-class level. The School of Business Administration and its Gerry Anderson School of Business, Art College and Education College are all famous.
The winner of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Dr. Richard R. Schrock, who started teaching at UCR on 20 18, the cartoonist Steve Brin who won the Pulitzer Prize twice in 2008 and 2009, the American Poet Laureate who was re-elected twice from 200/KLOC-0 to 2003, and Billy Collins, who was praised as "the most popular poet in America" by The New York Times, are all UCR alumni. Barry Clark barish, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 20 17, started teaching at UCR in 20 18.
