Graduate students from the School of Foreign Languages live in Dezhi Garden. The conditions are better. They have water heaters. If they apply to the school, they can live outside.

The School of Foreign Languages of Hunan University has experienced a long development process and has now become one of the larger departments of Hunan University. The College consists of five departments (Linguistics Department, Translation Department, Business English Department, British and American Literature and Culture Department and Japanese Department), three teaching departments (College English Department, Postgraduate English Department and Minority Languages Department), four research institutes (Cognitive Science Institute, Chinese and Western Language and Culture Comparison Institute, College English Teaching Institute and Asia-Pacific Research Institute) and two centers (Foreign Language Training Center and Overseas Research Institute). At present, there are 1 master's programs in two disciplines (foreign languages and literature) and 3 master's programs (foreign languages and literature and applied linguistics, English languages and literature, Japanese languages and literature).
