Shanxi University, located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in China. It is a national "double first-class" university, a "Ministry-provincial university" jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Shanxi Provincial People's Government, and a key university in Shanxi Province.
The school, formerly known as Shanxi University Hall, was founded on May 8 19 12, and was renamed as Shanxi University. It was confirmed as National Shanxi University in 19 18, and renamed as Shanxi University in 193 1 year./kloc-
As of March 2023, the school has three campuses, namely Wucheng, Dongshan and Dadongguan, with a total area of 3,008 mu and a building area of1166,400 square meters. There are 19 authorized points for doctoral degrees in first-class disciplines, 35 authorized points for master's degrees in first-class disciplines, 24 authorized points for master's degrees, and 14 postdoctoral mobile stations.
