The College of Pharmacy of Lanzhou University was founded in 1959. It was originally established as the Department of Pharmacy of Lanzhou Medical College and merged into Lanzhou University in 2004. There are six institutes under the College: Institute of Medicinal Chemistry, Institute of Pharmacy, Institute of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Institute of Pharmacognosy, Institute of Microbiology and Biochemical Pharmacy, and Institute of Molecular Pharmacology. 20 1 1 pharmaceutical research and experiment center and undergraduate teaching experiment center were established.

The College of Pharmacy enrolls more than 50 undergraduates 150 students, more than 50 graduate students and 3-5 doctoral students each year. There are more than 500 students in the school now.
Pharmacy is the key subject of Gansu Provincial Department of Education. The first-level discipline of pharmacy consists of six master's programs in two disciplines: medicinal chemistry, pharmacy, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacognosy, microbiology, biochemical pharmacy and pharmacology. In 2006, he was authorized by the master's degree in pharmacy, and in 2007, he established a doctoral program in medicinal chemistry with the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University. 20 10 the Ministry of education approved the degree of pharmacy and began to enroll students. The College of Pharmacy has established two joint training bases for pharmaceutical postgraduates with the General Hospital of Lanzhou Military Region and the Institute for Drug Control of Gansu US Food and Drug Administration, and started enrolling students in 2008.
Since 2009, the College has undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation Project 10 and won three provincial and ministerial awards. In recent five years, 48 SCI papers have been published, 4 invention patents have been obtained, and 2 monographs have been edited, including Gansu Chinese Herbal Medicine Resources (4.7 million words).
20 10 The Qinbo Building where the College of Pharmacy is located has been completely renovated. The hardware conditions of the college have been greatly improved, and modern experimental furniture has been purchased. In recent years, with the support of "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project", a number of modern teaching and research equipment have been purchased, with total fixed assets of more than RMB100000, and the largest Chinese herbal medicine resource bank in Gansu Province has been built.
