Mathematics and applied mathematics

The national first-class undergraduate specialty construction site, the first batch of provincial key majors and mathematics disciplines in Hunan Province were selected as the national "double-first-class" construction disciplines. The predecessor of mathematics and applied mathematics is the mathematics specialty established by 1974. 198 1 year: approved the first batch of national master's programs in basic mathematics: 1982: selected the first batch of provincial key majors in Hunan universities; 1998: granted the right to grant master's degree in applied mathematics, and in 2006: granted the right to grant doctor's degree in applied mathematics.

2020: Approved as a national first-class undergraduate specialty construction site. In February 2022, mathematics was selected as the national "double first-class" construction discipline. According to Bu You Bian Xiao, the School of Mathematics and Computational Science where this major is located is one of the earliest departments of Xiangtan University. 1974 started as a major in mathematics and computational mathematics at the beginning of the resumption of classes.

The Department of Mathematics and Physics was established in 1976, and 198 1 was renamed as the Department of Mathematics. The School of Mathematics and Computational Science was established in 2003. The college has the first batch of national applied mathematics centers in China-Hunan National Applied Mathematics Center (supporting unit).

National first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites, national specialty and B+ law specialty were approved as national specialties in 2007, and were selected into the first batch of national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites in 20 19. Xiangtan University, where it is located, is the first university in Hunan Province to carry out undergraduate education in law (1983) and obtain a master's degree in law (1993) and a doctor's degree in law (2003).

In 2007, it was approved as a postdoctoral research mobile station for the first-level discipline of law, and 20 1 1 was approved as an authorized point for the first-level discipline of doctor of law. In 20 12, it was approved as the first batch of excellent legal talents education and training bases in China. It is the only comprehensive reform pilot unit of law major in China, the national comprehensive reform pilot unit of postgraduate education of law major, the national innovative experimental area of legal talent training mode and the national legal experimental teaching demonstration center.

In 20 13, the "collaborative innovation center of legal construction in Hunan and regional social governance" was recognized as the collaborative innovation center of Hunan province (the only one in law), and was approved as "the national first-class construction discipline" in 20 17. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the evaluation result of law discipline is B+
