Northwest A&F University, referred to as Xinong or Northwest Agricultural University, is located in Yangling Demonstration Zone, Shaanxi Province. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a university directly under the central government, a national "double-class" construction university, and a key construction university of "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project", and has been selected into the National Strong Foundation Plan and "655438+0 Project".

Northwest A&F University, formerly known as National Northwest Agricultural University, was founded in 1934. 1September, 1999, with the approval of the State Council, seven scientific and educational institutions, including the former Northwest Agricultural University, Northwest Forestry College, Institute of Soil and Water Conservation of Ministry of Water Resources of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Northwest Institute of Water Conservancy Science of Ministry of Water Resources and Shaanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, merged to form Northwest A&F University.

As of March 2022, the school covers an area of 5,657 mu, with graduate schools, 28 colleges (departments and institutes) and 74 undergraduate majors. There are 0/4 postdoctoral mobile stations 16 first-class doctoral programs/kloc-0, and 28 first-class master programs.
