Journal of Tibet University for Nationalities was founded on 1980. It is a bimonthly academic theory sponsored by Tibet University for Nationalities and headed by the Education Department of Xizang Autonomous Region. The editorial department of this journal is a member of China Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences.

February 20 14 14 was selected as the first batch of academic journals recognized by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television under the title of Journal of Tibet University for Nationalities. 20 15 was renamed Journal of Tibet University for Nationalities (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). On April 20 17, it was selected by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and officially published the second batch of recognized academic journals.

According to the statistics of Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform on February 7th, 20 19, Journal of Tibet University for Nationalities (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition) contains 2485 articles and 570 fund papers.

Journal of Tibet University for Nationalities focuses on Tibetan studies and ethnology, and mainly publishes academic papers on Tibetan studies, ethnology, religion, history, national language, literature, philosophy, economy, management and education. It mainly includes Tibetan studies, ethnology studies, history studies, China language and literature studies, philosophy studies, economics studies, pedagogy studies and other columns.

Since its establishment, * * * has edited and published 170, and published 3,343 academic papers, including 1604 articles on Tibetan studies and ethnology, accounting for 47.9% of the total number of articles.
