University of California, Riverside is a public research university in California, and one of the top ten campuses of the University of California system. Its main campus is located in Binjiang City, covering an area of about 1.200 mu (4.86 square kilometers).
There is also a campus in Palm Desert, covering 20 acres (8 mm). The school's predecessor was the Experimental Station of the University of California Medical College, which was established in 1907. It is a pioneer in pest biotherapy and the use of growth regulators. The research results successfully extended the growth period of cholesterol in California from 4 months to 9 months.
