Nanchang University, located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, is a national "world-class discipline construction university", a university jointly established by the State "2 1 1 Project", and a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government. It is the only university in Jiangxi to participate in the construction of China's next-generation Internet demonstration project CNGI.
From 65438 to 0952, the Ministry of Education began a large-scale adjustment of departments and colleges in accordance with the policy of "focusing on cultivating industrial construction and teachers, developing specialized colleges, and rectifying and strengthening comprehensive universities".
In Jiangxi, from 65438 to 0952, the Agricultural College of Nanchang University was separated for the first time, and Jiangxi Agricultural College was established independently, merged into Nanchang Agricultural College and Jiangxi Veterinary College, and moved to Li Antang, Nanchang County.
In the same year, the Department of Mining and Metallurgy Engineering, the Department of Agricultural Engineering and the Department of Water Conservancy Engineering of Nanchang University were merged into Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (now Central South University), Huazhong Agricultural College (now Huazhong Agricultural University) and Wuhan Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power (now Wuhan University) respectively.
