The earliest educational monograph in the west is "Great Teaching Theory".

On Great Teaching is an educational work created by Czech educator Jan Amos Komensky, which was first published in 1632. Great teaching theory focuses on teaching theory. It clearly put forward and demonstrated in detail a series of teaching principles, teaching rules and various teaching methods, drew up the curriculum of various schools at all levels, determined the basic organizational form of school teaching, and formulated the principle requirements for compiling teaching materials.

Chapter 26 discusses school discipline, and chapters 27 to 32 formulate a unified school system and basic plans for schools at all levels; Chapter 33 describes the conditions under which the author's educational ideal can be realized.

Comenius is in a period of social change when the feudal society in Europe collapsed and the capitalist system was established.
