He presided over the key projects of the Tenth Five-Year Plan of National Education Science, namely, Research on Independent Running of Colleges and Universities in the Process of Popularization of Higher Education, Tenth Five-Year Plan of National Center for Degree and Postgraduate Education, Tenth Five-Year Plan of National Examination Center of Ministry of Education, Research on Reform of Self-taught Examination Mechanism and Tenth Five-Year Plan of Zhejiang Philosophy and Social Sciences, including 7 provincial and ministerial projects and 2 international projects. He has published monographs on higher education, Research on the Structural Reform of Higher Education in Contemporary Europe and America, A Brief History of Foreign Education, etc., translated many works such as Out of the Ivory Tower and Mission of the University, and participated in the compilation of more than ten academic works. He has published papers in domestic and foreign academic journals such as Education Research, Comparative Education Research, China Higher Education Research, Higher Engineering Education Research, Journal of East China Normal University (Education Edition), Journal of Zhejiang University and Higher Education Policy.
