As the University Student Sports Association is a non-profit national mass sports organization and social group, it needs to be filed with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, so the Ministry of Civil Affairs participates in macro management. Developing sports activities and competitions in colleges and universities requires the technical guidance of the State Sports General Administration, which also participates in the management. China University Sports Association was re-registered as a community in the Ministry of Civil Affairs on 1993, that is to say, the development of China University Sports Association has only a history of 10.
The highest authority of China University Sports Association is the General Assembly. The shareholders' meeting is held every four years. If the meeting needs to be held in advance or postponed due to special circumstances, it shall be voted by the Committee, reported to the competent business unit for examination and approval, and reported to the association registration authority for approval, but the extension shall not exceed one year. The functions and powers of the general assembly are: to formulate and amend the articles of association, to elect and recall members of the Committee, to consider the work report and financial report of the Committee, and to decide on termination and other important matters.
The Committee is the executive body of the General Assembly. Lead the Association to carry out its daily work during the recess and be responsible for the general meeting of members. The functions and powers of the committee are: to implement the resolutions of the general meeting, to elect and recall the president, vice-president and secretary-general, to prepare for the general meeting, to report the work and financial situation to the general meeting, to decide on the appointment and dismissal of members, to decide on the appointment of offices, representative offices and units, to decide on the appointment of deputy secretaries-general and principal responsible persons of organizations, to lead the work of various organizations of the Association, to formulate internal management systems and to decide on other major matters.
The Association also establishes a Standing Committee (the number of the Standing Committee shall not exceed one third of the Committee). The Standing Committee is elected by the Committee, exercises some functions and powers when the Committee is not in session, and is responsible to the Committee. The Committee consists of branches, namely, branches, units, representative institutions and competitive sports offices in colleges and universities.
