Analysis of the present situation of mental health education
Although there are many articles in educational magazines and newspapers calling for mental health education in schools, and some advanced schools have taken the lead in this work, on the whole, this work is still not universal, and the phenomenon of neglecting mental health education in some schools is quite serious. The reason is:

1. There are misunderstandings about mental health, and mental health education in schools lacks motivation for action.

Here, the first thing that must be distinguished is some differences between mental health education and psychological counseling. Although "school psychological counseling" is also expanding, in people's minds, this concept always has a typical paradigm, that is, it is related to mental illness, and psychologists mainly consult individual visitors. This is also necessary in schools, but only a few students are "sick" and cannot replace the psychological quality education of college students.

2. Teachers who have not received professional training in school mental health education.

Due to the influence of traditional (exam-oriented education) mode, teachers' colleges in China pay attention to training teachers of various disciplines and majors, but not psychology teachers. Although psychology is offered in all disciplines and majors, students do not attach importance to the study of psychological theory, which leads to the shortage of professional mental health education teachers in primary and secondary schools. Mental health education in schools is generally organized and implemented by class teachers. Due to the uneven level of class teachers and busy class affairs, mental health education is generally a mere formality and cannot be implemented.

3. Lack of research on teaching materials and methods of mental health education, and lack of necessary bridge and trust in school mental health education.

Influenced by the traditional concept of exam-oriented education, the school only attaches importance to subject courses and does not offer mental health education courses, which leads to the lack of clear objectives and relatively fixed system content, as well as fixed time guarantee and research and testing means. Therefore, teachers and students can't operate, and psychological education is in a dispensable position or has become a fashionable slogan, but it has not been solidly implemented. In order to realize the modernization of education, the implementation of psychological quality education not only involves the teaching reform of various disciplines, but also inevitably involves the opening of mental health education courses, which can effectively promote the development of students' psychological quality as an intermediary and bridge.
