Guangxi University of Science and Technology is located in Liuzhou, a national historical and cultural city, an important industrial town in southwest China, a transportation hub and a commercial and logistics center. It is an ordinary institution of higher learning directly managed by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school, formerly known as Guangxi Institute of Technology, was established in Nanning, 1958. 1985 By the decision of the people's government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Institute of Technology moved to Liuzhou. Guangxi Institute of Technology 20 12 merged with Liuzhou Medical College, and Guangxi University of Science and Technology 20 13 was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The school has complete infrastructure and excellent conditions for running a school. At present, there are three campuses in Wenchang (formerly East Ring Road), Liushi and Liudong, and two clinical medical schools, covering an area of nearly 2,800 mu, with a total construction area of more than 860,000 square meters, and the average value of teaching and research equipment per student is nearly 20,000 yuan. There are 16 secondary colleges, 1 department, 2 directly affiliated hospitals (First Affiliated Hospital and Second Affiliated Hospital) with more than 27,000 full-time students. The school continued to promote the construction of smart campus and built a data center with 400 physical servers, which was listed as a city node unit of China Education Network. Established the Enlightenment Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base, and was awarded the "Four Innovations" Center of Guangxi University Students, Liuzhou Center and the Creative Space of the Autonomous Region.
