China's lack of educational spirit is manifested in some educational leaders. Instead of holding high the banner of scientific democracy and leading teachers and students to build the school into a pure spiritual home, they succumb to external forces, leading to confusion of thoughts, vague goals and short-sighted behavior. Shown in some parents, it is the loss of creed and principle, quick success and instant benefit, and unscrupulous means to achieve personal goals. However, the confusion of educational practice is inevitably reflected in the lack of theoretical research, and there are not many contents related to educational spirit in various popular pedagogy books or textbooks in China. Some textbooks designated as national textbooks and general textbooks for local and industrial schools hardly discuss the educational spirit. In some books that mention the spirit of education, the discussion of the spirit of education still stays at the level of individual micro-activities of teachers' selfless dedication, regardless of personal gains and losses, but does not rise to the level of overall macro-activities of maintaining the essence of education, highlighting educational ideals and beliefs, and carrying forward educational character and realm. This paper attempts to discuss the educational spirit from both theoretical and practical aspects. 1 Overview of Educational Spirit 1. 1 Significance of Educational Spirit There is little research on "Educational Spirit". Educational spirit, the most core and basic factor in educational thought or will, plays a role in value orientation or direction guidance for educational spirit. 1.3 characteristics and types of educational spirit We believe that educational spirit should have the following characteristics: cultural: because people grasp the world in a cultural way, culture is the life world of people and of course the life world of education. Different "quality" cultures will inevitably breed different "quality" education, and cultures with different characteristics will inevitably lead to changes in the basic characteristics of education. Subjectivity: Because man is a kind of existence with naturalness, sociality and historical unity. In essence, human beings are practical beings. People's life activities are activities to achieve people's goals only according to their own will, let the world meet their own needs, and consciously create people's "life world". This is the essential strength of human beings.
