The earliest national educational research university in Japan, Hokuriku University of Science and Technology, which only trains graduate students, has a number of disciplines supported by Japan, and the research and teaching level of many disciplines ranks among the top in the world, especially in the field of information science. 1987, the meeting of Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology decided to set up a research institute to study cutting-edge science and technology-"Japan University of Cutting-edge Science and Technology". 1989 The relevant preparatory committee was established in tokyo institute of technology. At first, the institute's address was set in Kanto, and later it was moved to Ishikawa Prefecture because of political and human factors (Mori Yoshiro, then Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, that is, Japanese Prime Minister after 10, was born in Nami City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and his staff moved JAIST's location back to their hometown from Kanto at their own will). Therefore, the original "Top University of Science and Technology in Japan" was renamed as "Top University of Science and Technology in Hokuriku", but the English name remained the same. Thanks to the compromise between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Japanese government and Mori Yoshiro himself, JAIST can get much more research funds and scholarships than other national universities and research institutes every year.
