Jidong Martyrs Cemetery, a national key martyrs memorial building protection unit, is located in Nanxin West Road, Tangshan. Founded in 1955, it was officially built in 1958 and opened to the outside world. It is subordinate to the Civil Affairs Department of Hebei Province and Tangshan Civil Affairs Bureau successively. It was named as "Patriotism Education Base", "Hebei National Defense Education Base" and "Tangshan Youth Moral Practice Demonstration Base" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Hebei Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government, Tangshan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
