Composition 1
The number of words in an IELTS academic composition should not be less than 150. Candidates are advised to complete it in 20 minutes. In the first composition, some visual information will be given in the title, such as one or more interrelated charts, schematic diagrams or tables, which candidates need to describe. The topic can also be mechanical drawing, device drawing and flow chart, and candidates need to explain their operation methods. The content of the composition 1 is academic, so candidates should use the style of academic writing.
Ielts academic composition 1 examines the ability of candidates to select important and relevant information in charts or tables and describe these information clearly. Examiners will rate candidates' ability to organize this information and the accuracy of language use.
It is worth noting in the IELTS academic composition 1 that:
1. The composition should be written on the answer sheet;
2. If the number of words is less than 150, points will be deducted;
It is not advisable to spend too much time, otherwise there will not be enough time for composition 2.
Composition 2
The number of words in IELTS Academic Composition II cannot be less than 250 words. Candidates are advised to finish it within 40 minutes, and the score of composition 2 is also higher than that of composition 1. Composition 2, and the topic will give an opinion, question or topic, which candidates need to discuss. According to different situations, candidates may need to propose solutions to problems, discuss and prove a point of view, compare and contrast an argument or viewpoint, or evaluate and refute an argument or viewpoint. This part examines the ability of candidates to discuss arguments and provide clear arguments or examples to support them.
Ielts academic composition 2 should pay attention to:
1. The composition should be written on the answer sheet;
2. If the number of words is less than 250, points will be deducted;
3. Be careful not to copy the questions directly from the answer sheet, because such content will not be graded;
