Wuhan College enrolls students nationwide and implements full-time undergraduate and junior college education, which is headed by Hubei Provincial Department of Education. Wuhan University aims to adhere to the domestic education, follow the laws of higher education, pay attention to personnel training, and strive to cultivate high-quality applied talents to meet the needs of economic and social development based on "application, outstanding characteristics and internationalization".

Wuhan University has seven colleges and one department, namely Accounting College, Finance and Economics College, Management College, Information Engineering College, Law School, Foreign Languages College, Arts and Media College and General Education Department.

The school has a large number of experts and professors from Massachusetts State University, University of Reading, University of Paris I, University of Sydney, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and part-time tutors from Huawei, Tencent, JD.COM and other enterprises. At present, there are more than13,000 students.

The founder of the school is Mr. Chen Yidan, the main founder of Tencent, the founder and honorary chairman of Tencent Charity Foundation and the founder of "One Dan Award". Mr. Chen Yidan has successively obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Shenzhen University, a master's degree in law from Nanjing University, a doctorate in business administration from Singapore Management University and an honorary doctorate in humanities from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
