Zengcheng itself is an independent district, namely Zengcheng District, a municipal district of Guangzhou.

Zengcheng District of Guangzhou has six sub-district offices including Licheng Street, Zengjiang Street, zhu cun Street, Yongning Street, Lihu Street and Ningxi Street, and seven town governments including Xintang Town, Shitan Town, Zhongxin Town, Paitan Town, Zhengguo Town, Xiaolou Town and Xiancun Town.

The cultural heritage is profound. It has a long history. Jianxian County was built in the sixth year of Jian 'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 20 1), with a history of 1800 years. It is listed as "Millennium Ancient County" by the United Nations Geographical Names Organization.

Beiqiu Cultural Site is located in Jinlan Temple, Sanjiang, 4000-7000 years ago, which is the earliest ancient human settlement in Guangzhou. Zengcheng has a long history. Since ancient times, Choi Woo-shik, Zhan Ruoshui, the Prime Minister of the Southern Song Dynasty and three ministers of the Ming Dynasty have emerged as historical and cultural celebrities. It is also the hometown of He Xiangu, one of the legendary Eight Immortals.

Zengcheng litchi culture has a long history; The nuclear sculpture (Guangzhou Olive Sculpture) was selected into the national intangible cultural heritage list; Dragon boat culture has a unique flavor of water town; Traditional folk customs, such as dancing bravely, dancing spring cattle and dancing, are rich and colorful.

The only minority community in Guangzhou (Zhengguo She Village) has a unique ethnic customs. Paitan Town, Zhengguo Town, Huang Wu Village and Kengbei Village are full of charm; Ancient temples such as He Xiangu Family Temple, Baode Temple, Sanzhong Temple, Buddhist Temple, Manjuji Temple and Baihua Ancient Temple show Zengcheng's profound cultural heritage.
