The universities in Xuchang, Henan Province are: Xuchang University, Xuchang Ceramic Vocational College, Xuchang Vocational and Technical College and Xuchang Electrical Vocational College.

There are five universities in Xuchang, including two undergraduate universities, namely Xuchang Campus of Henan Agricultural University and Xuchang University. There are three higher vocational colleges: Xuchang Vocational and Technical College, Xuchang Electrical Vocational College and Xuchang Ceramic Vocational College (private, located in Yuzhou). According to the plan of Henan Agricultural University, Xuchang Campus of Henan Agricultural University will be transformed into a teaching practice base and no more students will be enrolled.

Xuchang Ceramic Vocational College is not standardized in running a school and it is difficult to recruit students. Last year, the Yuzhou municipal government invested 654.38+27 billion yuan to acquire its campus to build the Yuzhou campus of Zhengzhou Institute of Light Industry, and plans to start enrolling students in September this year, with the first batch of three undergraduate majors.

Xuchang is a big city with economy and strong industry, but it lacks a small and weak city with higher education. Not commensurate with the economic status, which can also explain why the city leaders came all the way to seek the desire to establish Xuchang campus in Jiaotong University.

Xuchang university is a provincial full-time undergraduate college. In March 2002, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college. As of July 20 16, the two campuses cover an area of nearly 1700 mu, with a construction area of more than 600,000 square meters.

Xuchang Ceramic Vocational College was established in March, 20 10. It was upgraded from Yuzhou vocational secondary school, while retaining Yuzhou vocational secondary school. Xuchang Ceramic Vocational College, Zhengzhou Institute of Light Industry and Yuzhou Campus are in the same campus and share campus facilities. The planned Yuzhou Campus of Zhengzhou Institute of Light Industry covers an area of 926 mu.

Xuchang Vocational and Technical College covers an area of 1 1,000 mu, with a building area of 350,980 square meters and a library of more than 800,000 books.

Xuchang Electric Vocational College has a planned total area of 990 mu, with a school building area of 320,000-50,000 square meters. There are 328 full-time teachers and double-qualified teachers, including 86 teachers with associate senior titles or above, 32 professors and distinguished professor, and 76 doctors and masters.
