Located at No.2 Wenbi Street, Yunyan District, Guiyang City. Adjacent to Wenchang Pavilion, Guishan Academy and the former site of Guizhou Provincial Working Committee of the Communist Party of China, it is a provincial key middle school. The school was formerly known as Guiyang Girls' Middle School in Guizhou Province, 1969 was renamed Guiyang No.2 Middle School, and 1980 was identified as the first batch of provincial key middle schools.

In 2002, it was approved by the provincial education department as a second-class demonstration high school in Guizhou Province, awarded the first batch of high school curriculum reform demonstration schools in Guizhou Province by the provincial education department in 20 10, and won the title of Guiyang Science and Technology Characteristic School in 2010.
