First, how to make eye-catching PPT slides

If the slides you design are disorganized, with too many words and unsightly, then you can't form an attractive presentation to convey information. The following suggestions will help you make a professional and convincing speech.

1 Keep it simple.

PowerPoint uses slides horizontally or horizontally. The software can display graphical information conveniently, and support the functions of explanation and appendix. The slide itself is never the protagonist of the presentation. (Of course, the audience is the protagonist. People come to listen, feel or accept your message (or both). Don't let slides dominate, so it doesn't have to be too complicated or full of what edward tufte called "chart garbage"; Your slides should be concise.

Your slides should leave a lot of blank space around the entity. Don't forcibly fill these blank areas with signs that hinder understanding or other unnecessary graphics or text boxes. The less confusion on the slide, the more intuitive the visual information it provides.

2 Limit the number of points and texts

The object of the demonstration is the audience. But it's no good boring the audience point by point. The application of text should also follow this principle. The best slides may have no text at all. Because people rely too much on text slides today, this may sound ridiculous, but the best PowerPoint slides are almost meaningless without explanation. Remember, the purpose of slides is to support the narrator's narrative, not to make the narrator redundant.

People often say, "Sorry, I didn't see your slides. I hear it's very good. Can you send me your PowerPoint slides? " But if it's a good slide, it's useless without your explanation.

Therefore, in addition to PowerPoint slides, it is best to prepare a written document to emphasize and explain the contents of the presentation in detail. Sending detailed written promotional materials to the audience to explain the slides is more beneficial for the audience to understand the presentation than just using PowerPoint slides. After the presentation, distribute a detailed promotional material or printed matter to the audience, so that you don't have to fill a lot of text in PowerPoint slides.

We will explain more details in the delivery section below, but as long as the text is involved, please remember that you must never read the text on the slide word for word with your back to the audience.

3 Limit transitions and animations

Be careful with animations and slide transitions. The animation on each slide, such as the main points, should be animated. It's good to add some animation, but stick to the most exquisite and professional animation (similar to what you see on the evening TV news).

For the main points, it is enough to use a simple left-to-right display (through the animation menu), but the animation of moving or flying is too dull and slow (however, many demonstrations today still use this form of animation). Frame after frame of animation will soon bore the audience. As for the transition between slides, you only need to use two or three types of transition effects, and don't add special effects between all slides.
