A New Attempt of Online Classroom

Zheng Shuping

"Teaching materials are the foundation of education.

In 2007, the Danhua Culture and Education Center in the Netherlands introduced the textbook Classic and Graded Chinese Characters, a scientific research achievement of "Fast Literacy and Early Reading" by the Institute of Language Application of the Ministry of Education, and the textbook Chinese and Children's Chinese compiled by the Chinese College of Jinan University in China.

"Literacy is fast, the speed of children's breakthrough literacy is improved, and there is no fear of Chinese characters.

Professor Guo, the main author of Shuo Wen Jie Zi, once said such a thing.

The outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic in 2020 has affected online Chinese classroom teaching.

In this context, Danhua's online courses have also been affected. Based on various factors, schools began to turn to online courses.

In view of the particularity of children, the teachers of Classic Chinese Characters and Graded Chinese Characters began to try new ways in combination with the characteristics of online courses.

In the first class, the teacher takes students to read, write and read "Chinese Classics" quickly, so as to improve children's literacy and aesthetic feeling of reading.

In the second online class, teachers expand reading by combining Chinese and foreign picture books with children's real life.

Let children find the resonance of self-knowledge, feeling and behavior in reading and writing.

Several teaching methods of online courses, such as reading together to make students have a sense of wholeness, are not ideal in online course teaching due to reasons such as network speed.

Finally, the teachers decided to carry out online teaching through group identification, word card games and body movements.

At the request of parents, the school is going to open a summer online class.

The enrollment targets are not only Dutch students, but also children from other European countries. At present, students from Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands apply for summer courses, which shows the charm of Chinese.
