The founding of Hong Kong Baptist Church coincided with Japan's invasion of China and the country suffered from war. Many mainland members avoided Hong Kong. At that time, Hong Kong Baptist Church, Cheung Chau Baptist Church, Aberdeen Baptist Church, Yau Ma Tei Evangelical Church, Kowloon City Evangelical Church and Hung Hom Evangelical Church initiated the establishment of the Baptist Federation in order to connect the feelings of believers, strengthen the work of evangelization and support the suffering members in China. Seeing the actual difficulties at that time, the Hong Kong Baptist Church immediately sought donations from the Southern Baptist Church. 1950, Aibo Village and He Wen Tian Village were built in Laohuyan (that is, Lefu) and Hewentian to accommodate refugees. In order to cooperate with the development of the gospel, Shinto College was opened in Aibo Village the following year. The Medical Department was founded in 1952. It can be seen that the Baptist Federation bravely undertook its mission in the difficult days of Hong Kong, thus laying the foundation for all the work of the Federation today. Undoubtedly, after 60 years of development, Hong Kong Baptist Church is not only diversified, but also integrated, and has made substantial contributions to the church and society.
