The new class of grade nine lasts for 33 weeks. As of July 20th, 2023, according to official website's information of Xuzhou Education Bureau, the teaching time for the whole school year in 2023 is 39 weeks, including 35 weeks for grades one to eight, 2 weeks for review exams, 2 weeks for school maneuver, 33 weeks for grade nine, 4 weeks for review exams (1 semester 1 week, 3 weeks for the second semester) and 2 weeks for school maneuver. The school maneuver time is arranged by the district education bureau or the school as appropriate, which can be used to arrange traditional school activities, cultural, scientific and artistic festivals, sports meetings, social practice, special education, etc. And the school may not simply arrange holidays (except for some rural schools, the busy farming depends on the situation). Xuzhou, referred to as "Xu" for short, was called Pengcheng in ancient times. It is a prefecture-level city and sub-central city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, a national historical and cultural city, a national comprehensive transportation hub, and a central city of Huaihai Economic Zone approved by the State Council.
