In the new era of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, labor education has been further developed and has a new era connotation. On July 20 15, the Ministry of Education, together with the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the National Youth Working Committee, issued the Opinions on Strengthening Labor Education in Primary and Secondary Schools, proposing to set up labor technology education courses in comprehensive practical activities, and to establish a labor education system with perfect courses, rich resources, diverse models and sound mechanisms in 3-5 years.
Throughout the development of labor education in China, labor courses in different periods are closely related to the development of the times, and so are the newly issued labor curriculum standards. The Labor Curriculum Standard pays more attention to the diversity of labor practice, the safety of the curriculum, and the students' labor concepts, habits and spirit.
According to the standard of labor curriculum, the content of labor curriculum revolves around daily life labor, productive labor and service labor, and ten task groups are set up. Daily life labor includes four aspects: cleaning and hygiene, classified storage, cooking and nutrition, and use and maintenance of household appliances. Productive labor includes agricultural productive labor, traditional handicraft production, industrial productive labor and the experience and application of new technologies. Service labor includes modern service labor, public welfare labor and voluntary service.
According to the content structure of labor curriculum, 1 ~ 2 grades focus on daily life labor and productive labor, and grades 3 ~ 9 should cover three types of labor content. The labor curriculum standards are based on students' age levels, covering everything from housework, making fruit tea, washing vegetables and cooking, repairing household appliances, growing vegetables and raising livestock, traditional crafts, and providing public welfare labor and voluntary services to the society.
The "Labor Curriculum Standards" issued by the Ministry of Education has enabled parents born after 70 s and 80 s to return to their working hours at school. A parent said that when he was in primary school in the countryside, he pulled weeds in the fields, cooked for his busy parents, and even was busy during the holidays. On the other hand, children seldom have the opportunity to do housework, let alone do farm work in cities.
