1. Education Bureau: it is the administrative organ in charge of education of local governments. Usually responsible for the development planning, allocation of educational resources, education and teaching management, the construction of teaching staff, the management of educational funds, the implementation and supervision of educational policies and regulations in this region.

2. Board of Education: The Board of Education was once the old name of the educational administrative organ of the people's government at the same level in Chinese mainland. Before the 1990s, the name "Education Commission" was used in many places, such as the State Education Commission (now the Ministry of Education). After the reform, the Education Commission was changed to the Education Commission, but in some places, especially at the grassroots level, the name "Education Commission" is still used habitually.
