Peking University is one of the earliest and oldest schools for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in China. 1952 It has been 70 years since the adjustment of "China Chinese Specialized Course for Foreign Students in Peking University".

1984 10, on the basis of the original "Teaching and Research Department of Chinese for Foreign Affairs", Peking University transferred teachers from Chinese Department and Foreign Languages Department to set up the "Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Center". The teaching target is mainly non-academic Chinese advanced students. 1In April, 1995, Peking University Institute of Overseas Education was established on the basis of the Center for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and the Office for Foreign Students. During the period of 1999, the college was restructured, the overseas education college was abolished, and the Chinese language center was attached to the international cooperation department. On June 29th, 2002, the School of Chinese as a Foreign Language of Peking University was established on the basis of China Language Center, and the cause of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in Peking University turned a new page.
