The main responsibilities of the Education Bureau:

First, implement national and provincial laws, regulations and policies on education, formulate normative documents on education and organize their implementation.

Two, formulate education development plan and annual work plan, put forward the goals and tasks of education reform and development, and coordinate and guide the implementation.

Third, in conjunction with relevant departments, formulate policies and regulations on raising education funds, education funding, education infrastructure investment, education fees, etc., be responsible for the overall management of district-level education funds, check the implementation of financial education funds in towns and streets, be responsible for the statistics, analysis and release of education-related data in the whole region, and guide the capital construction and financial management of schools.

4. Responsible for compulsory education, ordinary high school education, vocational education, higher education, preschool education, special education, ethnic education and adult education in the whole region, guiding schools to carry out education and teaching reform, school-running system and school internal management system reform, taking charge of all kinds of education entrance examinations in the whole region, and approving the establishment and change of self-study examination counseling institutions.

Five, guide and coordinate the scientific research, popular science, education and teaching research work of the education system in the whole region, guide the educational technology and equipment, laboratory and library construction, education informatization work of all kinds of schools, guide the school logistics work, and be responsible for the government procurement and supervision of schools directly under the district.

Six, implement the relevant provisions of education supervision, organize education law enforcement according to law, supervise and inspect the township people's government's performance of educational duties, and supervise and evaluate the education work of schools and other educational institutions at all levels below the secondary level.

Seven, to guide the ideological and political work, moral education, sports health and art education, national defense education and propaganda work of all kinds of schools at all levels in the region, to guide the school's safety, stability, public security and comprehensive management, and to guide the audit work of the education system.

Eight, in charge of the work of teachers in the region, organize the implementation of the teacher qualification system, organize and guide the evaluation of professional and technical qualifications of primary and secondary school teachers, guide the reform of the school personnel system, guide the construction of all kinds of school teachers and educational administrative cadres, guide the party building and United front work of the district direct education system, and be responsible for and guide the continuing education of kindergarten teachers in primary and secondary schools.

Nine, guide and coordinate the foreign exchange and cooperation of the education system in the whole region.

Ten, responsible for the promotion and standardization of the national common language in the region.

Eleven, to undertake other tasks assigned by the district party committee, district government and higher authorities.
