The development of history

Gai County was originally Gaiping County, which was established for Gaizhou Wei in the Ming Dynasty in the third year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1664). According to historical records, Pingguo County was established in Gai County and Han Dynasty. Gaizhou was established in Jin, Yuan and Ming Dynasties. The name "Gaiping" comes from the initials of the calendar names "Gaizhou" and "Pingguo". 1965, the State Council decided to change its name to Gai county. During the Warring States Period, Yan State opened up the Liu Zhan of Liaohe River, and Gai County was subordinate to Liaodong County. After Qin unified the six countries, it still belonged to Liaodong County. During the Western Han Dynasty and Wei and Jin Dynasties, there was Wenxian County (now Tang Chi, dashiqiao city) in the north of Gai County and Pingguo County (now Xiongyuecheng) in the south, which was under the jurisdiction of Liaodong County. Yan Qian, Qianqin and Houyan in the Sixteen Kingdoms Period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty belonged to Pingguo County, Pingzhou. After the establishment of Beiyan in 407 AD, Gai County was once divided by Koguryo, and Jian 'an City (now Qingshiling Koryo City) was built as Jian 'an County. In the first year of General Chapter of Tang Gaozong (AD 668), Jian 'an County was established in Jian 'an City. Chenzhou is located in Jian 'an, so Gai County is called Zhou. The Jin Dynasty changed Chenzhou to Gaizhou. Gaizhou Road was set up in the Yuan Dynasty, and Jian 'an City was still the seat of the government. In the sixth year of Yuan Shizu Zhiyuan (1269), Xiong Yue and Tang Chi counties merged into Jian 'an County.
