Finally, Guan Yu said that he really wanted the Buddha to be the protector around him and made a statue to worship it.

After hearing this story, ordinary people began to worship in the temple, but after a long time, more and more people listened to Buddhism, hoping that Guan Yu could protect himself from monsters. But because more and more people believe in Buddhism and fewer and fewer people believe in Taoism, they also thought of a way to write a story about Guan Yu and Taoism.

The Song Dynasty attached great importance to Taoism and called Guan Yu "the true king who worships Ning". However, this kind of story is not as effective as Buddhism, so they enrich it. The general content is that Zhang Tianshi once invited Guan Yu to help suppress evil spirits, so the story of Guan Yu's fighting against evil spirits began to spread. Although it sounds ridiculous, it is such a story that Guan Yu exists as a god.

Seeing that Buddhism and Taoism were promoted by Guan Yu, Confucianism could not sit still and felt that it should have a story with Guan Yu. Guan Yu didn't read much since he was a child. Confucianism can only enlarge the spiritual part of Guan Yu's inheritance of Spring and Autumn Annals and regard him as the idol of the students. In this way, Guan Yu became a god in the eyes of many people and a representative of the god of wealth in his hometown.
