This revision mainly aims at the needs of kindergarten curriculum reform and development under the implementation of the Guiding Outline of Kindergarten Education, especially supplements and adjusts the mathematics education and mathematics activities under the comprehensive curriculum model of kindergarten, and strives to comprehensively and systematically reflect the information of curriculum reform, reflecting the characteristics of theory, systematicness, pertinence and application.
At the same time, in order to help students and teachers better understand and master the design and implementation of kindergarten mathematics education, this textbook has added corresponding activity cases at each content point, especially some key and difficult activity cases in teaching.
Significance of Mathematics Education for Preschool Children
First, it is helpful to the development of preschool children's math skills.
The research shows that 0~6 years old is the key period for preschool children to develop their math skills, and 1~3 years old is the period when children show special interest in the arrangement, classification and pairing of things; About 4 years old is the period when children show a strong desire to learn numbers, geometry and measurement; 5~6 years old is a critical period for children to master mathematical concepts, perform abstract operations and form comprehensive mathematical abilities.
If teachers or adults can seize the opportunity and give appropriate training according to children's different learning needs in different periods, then they can learn and understand all kinds of math skills faster, otherwise, if they miss this critical period, the effect of educating children in math enlightenment may not be ideal.

Preschool children live in the real world like adults, and every object in the surrounding environment is presented to them in a certain number, size and shape, so they inevitably have to deal with mathematics.
