In the current wave of global education reform, the internationalization reform of English subject education bears the brunt. Cultivating young people with global vision and cross-cultural thinking, and building a professional and excellent team of international teachers have increasingly become the focus of education policies in various countries, and the improvement of students' language quality, international literacy and teachers' professional level is closely related to their own and team's research ability.

From April 20 12, the Institute of Basic Education Training and Research of South China Normal University and the School of International Language Education of Shutong have joined forces to unite primary and secondary schools all over the country and invited first-class linguists and educators at home and abroad to form a team, and established the PRT Plan (PRT Plan for short) as a joint scientific research project model of "production, learning and research".

PRT project aims to provide children with courses that are in line with international courses, create a distinctive curriculum system, promote the internationalization and informationization of English subjects in primary and secondary schools, cultivate world citizens, and realize children's dream of going straight to world famous schools. It is a necessary supplement to the national curriculum.

The biggest difference between Shutong English and other English education institutions is that Shutong adopts PRT English international curriculum system and PRT English classroom teaching mode. PRT English is an international course developed by local experts and experts from Hong Kong and the United States through 15, which is specially designed for China students to learn English. In primary school, it reached the level of junior high school in China (vocabulary 1500, writing 150 words, reading 150 words), and after graduation, it reached the level of college entrance examination (vocabulary 3500, writing 800 words). After entering senior high school, Shutong graduates can have autonomous learning ability, complete the English requirements of TOEFL IELTS for senior high school students, and realize the international integration of English learning.

PRT is a teaching concept, which refers to playing, reading and thinking in primary school English courses.

The content of PRT international course consists of five major curriculum systems: I can play, read an article, think, speak, cultivate outstanding talents, see the world and five language function laboratories supporting the course, namely, world theater, reading castle, innovative thinking studio, American kitchen and golf course, so that children can develop their English thinking in real scenes through extensive reading, participation in drama performances, English speeches and writing, and participation in world study tours.

Play middle school: play music and study. Playing middle school refers to experiencing language, perceiving language and using language in the process of game activities and performances to stimulate students' interest. Games are of great value in language learning. Through games, the development of children's language is full of diversity and interest. Games also provide children with an environment for language expression. Children must communicate with their peers and practice expression and understanding in games.

Reading in middle school: promoting learning by reading. Reading in middle school means that students can improve their vocabulary, increase language input and form reading habits and English thinking through massive reading. Successful English teaching depends on a lot of language materials and language practice. Reading is not only to cultivate reading ability, but also an important way to learn language knowledge and cultural knowledge, and also an important process to develop thinking ability. English teaching in the context of China should give full play to the role of reading.

Thinking middle school: thinking and learning learn from each other. Thinking about middle school has two meanings: first, it is a learning path. Learning is thinking, learning must be thinking. Second, cultivate students' thinking through language. The relationship between language and thinking is inseparable. Confucius said: learning without thinking is useless. Proactive thinking ability, induction, summary, imagination and speculation, has a great role in promoting language learning. On the other hand, learning English can help students understand and identify people's views and ways of thinking in English-speaking countries. Through a lot of English contact and experience, students gradually learn to think in English, which can enrich their perspective of observing and analyzing problems.

PRT project aims to explore the unique mode of curriculum reform in China in the future, and effectively enhance the motivation and ability of international development of the school. At the same time, under the framework of the overall curriculum reform, we should explore the establishment of an international curriculum system for primary English, which is conducive to improving the quality of English teaching and international integration, and systematically and scientifically study the core issues such as PRT curriculum practice mode, teaching design, subject integration and teacher development, so as to provide theoretical and practical support for promoting the in-depth reform of primary English education and teaching and realizing the transformation from traditional courses to international courses.
