The development of liberal arts education
In the United States, four-year universities attach great importance to liberal arts education. All bachelor's courses require students to receive thinking training in liberal arts education in the first two years, and only take specialized courses in the third year of bachelor's degree. In addition, there is a teaching institution that focuses on liberal arts education, called "College of Arts and Sciences", which usually lasts for four years. Its graduates can only get professional training in other colleges, such as graduate schools, such as business, law, medicine, theology and so on.

Universities outside the United States have been inspired by these American higher education institutions, including the European Boya College in Germany. This type of education has never appeared in Britain, and even the word liberal arts education is rarely mentioned. On the contrary, Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia offers a two-year TAFE diploma program.
