1985, approved by the former Ministry of Aerospace Industry, Weihai Branch of Harbin Institute of Technology was established.
In 2002, it was renamed Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai).
20 10 the Ministry of industry and information technology, Shandong province and weihai municipal people's government signed an agreement to jointly build Harbin institute of technology (weihai).
In 20 14, the state oceanic administration signed an agreement with the Ministry of industry and information technology to jointly establish the discipline of ship and ocean of Harbin Institute of Technology, marking the development of Weihai campus of Harbin Institute of Technology has entered a new stage.
Three campuses of Harbin Institute of Technology:
1. Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) belongs to one of the three inter-provincial campuses of Harbin Institute of Technology (Harbin, Weihai and Shenzhen).
Harbin is called the headquarters, and undergraduate and postgraduate education are equally important.
3. Weihai Campus is an undergraduate education base, and is vigorously developing postgraduate education.
4. Shenzhen Graduate School focuses on postgraduate education and develops undergraduate education, which is an important part of Harbin Institute of Technology and is affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China. It is the "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project" colleges announced by the Sunshine College Entrance Examination Information Platform of the Ministry of Education.
