Why should Henan change the mode of college entrance examination?
At the just-concluded provincial education work conference, Zheng Bangshan, director of the Education Department of Henan Province, particularly emphasized the process of comprehensive reform of college entrance examination in Henan Province: "According to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, combined with the evaluation of basic conditions in our province, in view of the existing problems in reducing large classes, building teachers' team and investing in running schools in ordinary high schools, it is necessary to clarify responsibilities, reverse the construction period, speed up the progress, ensure that all basic conditions meet the standards before freshmen enter school in autumn 2022, and smoothly start the comprehensive reform of college entrance examination in our province." This means that Henan, as the largest province in the college entrance examination, has officially defined the timetable for the reform of the college entrance examination-Henan freshmen will start school next year and formally implement the new college entrance examination model in 2025. The students who are most affected are the current Grade Two students.

Now some senior high school students and junior high school students are preparing for the review or study content for the current college entrance examination, which is totally inapplicable in the new college entrance examination! Many students, especially the junior three students now, may not have the chance to repeat the college entrance examination!

Although there is no official explanation about the specific plan of the comprehensive reform of the college entrance examination in Henan, we can refer to the "3+ 1+2" new college entrance examination plan of the third batch of eight provinces and cities (Fujian, Hubei, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Hunan, Hebei, Liaoning and Chongqing) that entered the comprehensive reform of the college entrance examination.

Unified college entrance examination subjects are Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages. Among them, foreign languages are divided into six languages, including English, Russian, Japanese, German, French and Spanish. Candidates can choose 1 language to take the exam.

Unified college entrance examination questions are formulated by the Ministry of Education. The selected subjects are six subjects: politics, history, geography, physics, chemistry and biology. Candidates must choose 1 from the two preferred subjects of history and physics, and then choose two of the four re-examination subjects of ideology and politics, geography, chemistry and biology to take the exam.
