There is no trace of great religion: the spring breeze melts and the rain moistens silently.

-Dialogue with Xu Bin

Hui Feng: In this issue, the teacher said that we invited a famous math educator, Mr. Xu Bin. Welcome xu teacher. Mr. Xu Bin is a famous teacher in the field of mathematics teaching in contemporary primary schools. He is currently the vice president of the Experimental College of Soochow University and the director of the Institute of Seamless Education of Soochow University. He advocated seamless education, and his masterpieces include Approaching Xu Bin and Seamless Education.

Our theme this time is how famous teachers are tempered. We want to ask xu teacher, who are the key people on your growth path, or what are the key things that have played a key role in your growth?

Xu Bin: Teachers, I am often asked this question by reporters, teachers and colleagues. It's really not easy to become a famous teacher. It takes a price to become a famous teacher, and it takes effort to become a famous teacher. Just now, Teacher Wang asked me what the key events were during my growth, and the key figures played a great role in my growth. I carefully recalled that in my 30-year teaching career, there were many people and things that played a major role in my educational growth, but the most important people and things impressed me the most were the two people and things that had a great influence on me.

First of all, I want to talk about a person. This man is my mentor and mentor. His name is Sheng Daqi. He is the editor-in-chief and presiding judge of our Jiangsu textbook. He is also the former executive director of the primary school mathematics professional Committee of China Education Association. How do I know Mr. Sheng? In my first year of work, Mr. Sheng Daqi worked in Rudong County, Nantong City, where I lived, but we were not in the same school. Once I went to listen to Mr. Sheng's class, I was fascinated by his class and pestered him to ask one question after another. Teacher Sheng invited me to his house for dinner. I don't remember what I had for dinner, but from that day on, Teacher Sheng was moved by my studious spirit. He took me as an apprentice, and I have great respect for him. At that time, my school was 30 miles away from Mr. Sheng's school. There were no special cars at that time, only bicycles. I ride my bike to Mr. Sheng's school 30 miles away every week and go to his home for consultation. For many years in a row, I don't remember riding a few bicycles every week, but every time I get full.

Under the guidance of teacher Sheng, I learned to do an important thing, that is, to conduct in-depth research on teaching materials. Teacher Sheng is the editor-in-chief of textbook compilation. He always told me that as a good teacher, we should first learn to study textbooks and master them. A primary school math teacher should be very familiar with every set, book, book and unit of primary school. Under the influence of teacher Sheng, I also learned to study textbooks.

How did I study it? One is to teach the great cycle from grade one to grade six. I have taught it once, but I feel that the research is not enough, and I have taught it again. In my thirty years of teaching experience, I have taught four complete cycles from annual leave to sixth grade. Through the great cycle of teaching, I can say that I am quite familiar with the teaching materials. I am very familiar with the source of each example and exercise, the first few volumes, the first few units and the first few exercises. Through the study of teaching materials, I can stand higher in class, look forward, look back, migrate and infiltrate. For every class, I don't just tell the truth. First of all, I want to know what the students have learned before learning this lesson and what they will learn in the future. When preparing lessons, you will know the ins and outs of knowledge, so the prepared lessons are the most suitable for students, and you can learn through hard work, neither what students already know nor what students don't understand.

Of course, there is no end to the study of textbooks. At the same time, the study of textbooks actually brings children's learning. You said that from grade one to grade six, children were taller than me since childhood. I watched them grow up every day and accompanied them to learn math in class. While learning textbooks and teaching in a big cycle, it is actually a deep understanding, deep understanding and deep understanding of children. Math class is when children meet math, or math meets children. Only by knowing the textbooks and children can our math class be more exciting.

This is the first point to answer the first question that Mr. Wang said just now. What kind of key people have the greatest influence on me in my growing experience? If you want to talk about a person, it is a grand revelation. Teacher Sheng gave me a lot of guidance and had a great influence. From textbook research to children's research, to classroom research, to the study of the overall characteristic art of mathematics teaching.

Teacher Wang also said just now, what other major events have affected me? Yes, my career growth is accompanied by many competition classes, and competition classes are important events in my career growth. I have participated in ten competitions at or above the county level in six years. I have participated in it in turn, at the county level, at the municipal level, at the provincial level and at the national level. Sometimes I only won the second prize and the third prize at first, then I won the first prize, and then I won the first prize. The once-in-a-lifetime competition has a great influence on me. There are also many class activities now, all of which are prepared by knowing the content in advance. At that time, we didn't know the content in advance. I'll tell you the content when you get to the competition venue, so that you can prepare your lessons independently. I think preparing lessons independently in such a competition is more challenging for teachers and more effective for their growth.

I remember that in order to participate in the provincial competition class, I worked in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, and organized many special-grade teachers to listen to my class and consult me to help me improve the artistic level of classroom teaching. At that time, there was a tutor named Zhang Xinhua, who was also a special teacher. He listened to my class and said that my textbook research is also good and my teaching plan is well written, but my teaching language is not good. The male teacher's language is abstract, and I don't know the characteristics of junior children, so my language is too abstract and rigorous, but the children don't like to hear it. Teacher Zhang Xinhua told me that if you want to do well in class, you must hone your language. Language is the soul of the classroom.

Zhang Xinhua said these things, and I was thinking about how to hone my language. I asked teacher Zhang, and teacher Zhang said I would give you an idea. You should investigate who primary school students like to listen to best. In the 1980s and 1990s, I went to investigate and found that children like to listen to two people best. One is called Sister Ju Ping, and the other is called Grandpa Sun Jingxiu. Sister Juping tells stories and hosts programs, which are liked by children's students. The story told by Grandpa Sun Jingxiu is full of strong feelings and simple explanations, and the children like it very much. Then teacher Zhang said, since children love to listen to these two people talk, you should look for their tapes. I really did it. I went to Xinhua Bookstore to find several Xinhua Bookstores, and found out all the tapes of stories told by Grandpa Sun Jingxiu and Sister Ju Ping, and found more than a dozen boxes. Then teacher Zhang said that you listen to them for two hours every day and try for three months in a row. Then he left.

I remembered teacher Zhang's words and really listened for two hours every day for three months. I noticed that I didn't have time to attend classes during the day, and there were other teachers in the office, so I listened at night. However, the conditions were rather difficult at that time, and there were two people in a dormitory. I can't interfere with their sleep, so I put on headphones to listen. The school gave me a walkman, which can be played repeatedly. I wear headphones when I sleep every day. I fell asleep in the beautiful voice of my sister Ju Ping and the kind voice of my grandfather Sun Jingxiu. When I woke up, their voices were still playing in my ears. It sounded good at first, and I couldn't eat my stomach in less than a week. After a while, I persisted and listened for three months.

Three months later, when Mr. Zhang and other experts came to my class again, I suddenly found that your classroom language in xu teacher was very different from before. Have you been to any place for training? I said no, I said teacher Zhang, do you remember? You taught me to find out who children like to listen to. I see. You taught me to listen for two hours every day. I really listened for three months and I'm still listening.

So all the teachers found that my language in class was different from before. I found out what children like to listen to and what languages they like to listen to. What are the characteristics of what Sister Ju Ping and Grandpa Sun Jingxiu said? I found this feature: first, students with many short sentences sound relaxed; Second, they speak spoken rather than written language, and spoken language is conversational and communicative, which is a bit funny; Third, their language is vivid and humorous, with more concrete images than abstract ones. I summed up this rule.

Later, I taught the children in class, and I also told some short sentences with such characteristics, such as cordial conversation, life dialogue, simple explanation and humor. This language training was only a few months at that time. In fact, I now remember that this kind of training was called devil training, which was very painful. However, after such training, I have been enjoying the benefits until today. As long as I am a teacher, I will have a deeper understanding of what kind of language children like, and I will better hone my own language, so that my classes are not only well designed but also lively, and the language is lively and children love to listen. Indeed, language is the shell of thinking, language is the soul of the classroom, and it is an extremely important basic skill for a teacher to temper language well.

So just now, Mr. Wang, you asked me that the important people are actually two people. Two things are important: class and language training. There are others, of course. Limited to time, I will say two things for two people.

Huifeng: Thank you, Teacher Xu. If there are no key figures on a person's growth path, the road of life will be much more ordinary. Some people say that character determines fate. After listening to your speech just now, I feel that choice determines fate, that is, the choice at the critical moment changes the direction of life, or finds the direction of life. An excellent teacher is good at self-demanding, no matter what class you are talking about, learning children's languages, studying teaching materials and studying children, and finally making children like listening to their own classes and becoming teachers that students like.

We also know that many front-line teachers have been working for three years, five years or even longer. Not that I like education more and more, but that I have a lot of burnout. Then we want you to talk to some teachers about how to enjoy education. As a math teacher, how can I enjoy the fun of math?

Xu Bin: OK, Miss Wang, this question is indeed universal. I am both a teacher and a manager. In the process of management, I also found that teachers' job burnout is a common phenomenon in education, whether it is middle school or primary school. What caused it? We don't analyze. Because there are too many reasons, there are social problems, regional differences, management problems, and of course teachers' own problems.

However, I want to look at this problem from the perspective of front-line teachers. We should face it correctly, build up confidence and make a choice. As for the choice you just mentioned, you should choose the way of work, lifestyle and education that suits you. How do front-line teachers become teachers with research? In my opinion, this is a question worthy of consideration by all our teachers. When you have research, when you like research, you are no longer afraid of being a teacher. If you like being a teacher, you will get rid of job burnout.

Then the problem comes again. As a front-line teacher, how to do research? How to enjoy the happiness of educational life? My experience is as follows: three words. First, read books and read good books; Second, teaching, teaching good books; Third, write a book and write a good book.

Of course, not everyone needs to write a book, and writing an article is also a kind of writing; If you want to study, you must read good books. There are too many books, electronic and written, which are endless. Therefore, our teachers must read books that suit them, choose good books, choose classic books, and choose classic books that suit them. Reading is an important part for teachers to form their own educational goals and ideals. Teachers who don't study can't be good teachers. You may just regard teachers as a profession, but you can't regard them as a profession, let alone a profession. Therefore, reading is the first way for our teachers to get rid of job burnout.

Teaching, while teaching, don't die teaching, let alone teaching books. We should choose the way that suits us. It is necessary to teach with characteristics, to teach with characteristics and to teach with style, so every teacher should learn to know himself. Although philosophers say it is the hardest to know ourselves, each of us should know ourselves.

What are the characteristics of your class? Is it passion, blandness or humor? Have different characteristics. Every teacher should have his own special class according to his own personality. Classes without characteristics, like warm swallowing water, can easily make students feel tired and bored, so teachers should find themselves, know themselves and know themselves while teaching books well. What are your characteristics? With characteristics, we must stabilize it. It forms characteristics, and stable characteristics are characteristics. When you study your own characteristics and form your own thoughts, you establish your own style. Style is the advanced state of teachers' professional level. Not everyone has a style. Style is the privilege of experts. That's not what I said. This is a famous educator named Whitehead. In his book The Purpose of Education, he said that style is the privilege of experts. Therefore, teachers should become distinctive teachers from ordinary teachers and eventually become famous teachers and experts. The sign of becoming a famous teacher and expert is that you have ideas, and you have style, because style is the blood of thought and style is the sculpture of thought. Without ideas, you can't be a style. This is teaching.

Writing a book is actually writing. While reading and teaching, we should learn to think, reflect and refine. We should turn our thinking about the classroom, our understanding of children and our study of textbooks into words and write them out, and then it will become experience. Then you can actively contribute, publish to a certain extent, and sort out your own unique series of studies to become a book. Therefore, reading a good book means teaching a good book, and then writing a good book after teaching a good book, so as to become a famous teacher. So just now, Teacher Wang said that there is no shortcut to becoming a famous teacher. Only by relying on your own diligence, your own choice, your own persistence and your own thinking can you become a good teacher that students like, parents trust and school principals rest assured.

Hui Feng: xu teacher told us the direction of teachers' growth. Teaching has characteristics, teaching has characteristics, teaching has style and teaching has ideas. This process is also the way for educators to grow up. Every teacher can form his own views and ideas through his own continuous efforts and research, and finally form his own educational thoughts and eventually become an educator. Today, I am very grateful to xu teacher for accepting our interview, to xu teacher, and to everyone.
