On June 2, 2008, researcher Wu Jianchun, director of China Earthquake Emergency Search and Rescue Center, said in an interview that the national earthquake emergency rescue training base managed by the center has been built in Beijing and will be put into use soon.

The National Earthquake Emergency Rescue Training Base is located in the famous Fenghuangling Natural Scenic Area. As the first professional earthquake disaster emergency rescue training base in China, it is a comprehensive training base integrating earthquake rescue training, emergency management, emergency search and rescue, medical assistance and other professional training, popular science education on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and volunteer training.
